Partial Fixed Bridges (Non-removable)

If you are missing teeth, a partial fixed bridge can be the perfect way to replace them and restore your mouth’s function once again. At Olympia Prosthodontics & Cosmetic Dentistry, we use today’s latest techniques and technology to give you the partial bridge that will be comfortable, look good, and last for a long time.

Partial fixed bridges are a permanent solution for your missing teeth. While the bridge may need replacement down the road (in an estimated five to ten years), we offer high quality work that will last for many years. We know that you have many options when it comes to replacing missing teeth and understanding all of your options can help you make the right decision.

The partial fixed bridge helps keep your other teeth in position, improves your smile, makes it easier to eat and talk, and even helps boost your self-esteem. Unlike partial dentures, you do not have to remove any appliances and worry about cleaning and storing them. The partial fixed bridge remains in your mouth, which also helps keep your mouth’s shape and structure. It is a clean and comfortable way to close the gap in your mouth.

THE PARTIAL FIXED BRIDGE PROCESS

When you decide you are ready for a bridge, we will give you two appointments. The first is to help prepare the surrounding teeth to support the bridge. This is the most important part. Without a solid anchor, the bridge will not have anything to keep it stable. The crowns serve as the support and will become a permanent part of your mouth as well.

If you have already had your loose or troubled tooth removed, we will set you up with your first partial bridge appointment. At this appointment, we remove some of the enamel of your surrounding teeth. This helps prepare the teeth for a crown, which is what the bridge needs to remain in place. Once we prepare the teeth, we create a mold of the area to have our lab make you a custom-fit bridge. At this time, we will also fit you with a temporary bridge to get your mouth used to having a new appliance in it.

Your second appointment is when we can put the bridge in place. We will not make it permanent until we are 100% certain that it is a good, comfortable fit. We will decide at that time if we will make the bridge permanent with permanent cement or if we will make it temporary and bring you back again to ensure a solid fit. Either way, the result is a permanent partial bridge that eliminates the gap you once had in your mouth.
