Full mouth reconstruction can include a variety of services that we provide in our office, including bridges, crowns, and veneers. Each patient will have a different combination of services that works best for their mouth to give them the outcome that they desire. Our staff will work with you closely to help you determine which services will help restore your mouth to optimal function and provide a pleasing look.

REASONS FOR FULL MOUTH RECONSTRUCTION

We see patients that need full mouth reconstruction for a variety of reasons. Most commonly, it is due to trauma or teeth that are severely decayed. Patients with broken teeth or those with teeth that eroded due to poor nutritional habits are also common candidates for this procedure. Our prosthodontists put together the best plan for each patient to ensure the positive outcome that you desire.

THE EXAM FOR FULL MOUTH RECONSTRUCTION

The full mouth reconstruction process starts with an exam. This is a very thorough exam as our prosthodontists evaluate all areas of your mouth, including your teeth, gums, and jawbone. We look for imperfections and issues with your teeth that may require crowns, veneers, or bridges. We look at the integrity of the teeth to see if we can save them or if extraction and replacement with artificial teeth is necessary.

We also carefully evaluate your gums to look for the presence of gum disease. If you do have gum disease, we will need to evaluate how serious it is to determine which procedure will help the most. This may require collaborative work with your general dentist or periodontist to get your gums in good enough shape to accept any restorative work that we do.

Our prosthodontists will use this time to carefully evaluate the color, size, and shape of your teeth as well. Any veneers, crowns, or implants that we have made for your mouth will match your existing teeth so that you have a natural look throughout your entire mouth.

THE PROCEDURE

A full mouth reconstruction can take a few appointments or many appointments in our office. It depends on the complexity of the work we have to do to help restore your smile. It is our goal to ensure that your teeth look as natural as possible while providing you with the function you need out of your teeth. We know how hard it is when your teeth are not functioning optimally or when they look less than pleasing. Our prosthodontist is here to help you with your full mouth reconstruction today.
